More than 70 golfers took part in the sold-out 23rd Gur Singh Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday at Bighorn Golf and Country Club, raising funds for people living with brain injuries in Kamloops. The annual charity event is capped at 144 golfers and offered 18 holes plus side activities including chipping competitions and a balloon pop. This year’s tournament sold out weeks in advance, as it did in 2023, and benefited the Kamloops Brain Injury Association (KBIA). Brain injury survivor James Passmore said the day was a success, highlighting the variety of door prizes. Over the years, the tournaments have raised more than $1 million since it began in 2004, after Dr. Gur Singh, a Kamloops surgeon who died in 2015.
