Gutierrez's 232-Yard Rushing Night Powers Navy's Comeback Win

Navy’s Midshipmen completed a dramatic comeback Friday at Annapolis, overturning a 12-point third-quarter deficit by scoring four straight touchdowns. Quarterback Gutierrez accounted for all four scores—throwing one and rushing for three—as the Turnaround in the third period flipped momentum after Tulsa seized control early. Navy had trailed 26-14 midway through the third quarter and was facing its fourth straight loss in the making, but Gutierrez led a 20-0 run over the final 21 minutes, including four unanswered touchdowns. The Golden Hurricanes had built a 20-7 advantage with trick-play scoring and fumble-prone possessions, while Navy’s defense limited Tulsa to field goals. Gutierrez finished with 232 rushing yards, the second-highest total by an FBS player this season, and the team improved its 2024-2025 combined mark to 21-5.
