High-A Blue Jays claim 2026 title -- these are the prospects who led them
The High-A Vancouver Canadians captured the 2026 Northwest League title after a 9-8 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Friday, completing a three-game sweep at PK Park. The clincher followed another back-and-forth game: Vancouver led early, then fell behind by four in the eighth. David Calabrese sparked a ninth-inning turnaround with a two-out, game-tying homer. After both teams scored in the 10th and went scoreless in the 11th, Ryan Sprose’s single to center in the 12th drove in the go-ahead run. The Canadians earned their third one-run victory in as many games and claimed their first league title since 2023, with the first championship-series sweep since 2022. Key prospects included JoJo Parker, who earned a promotion Aug. 10 after a .316 average across 21 regular-season games for Vancouver following 87 games at Single-A Dunedin.
