Historic club jolted back into action
xCruzo Brief
Coolgardie is returning to full-scale pennants competition 31 years after stepping away from the Goldfields Bowling League. The revival is being led by state player Roger Pascoe, with the pennants return this Saturday against hosts Kalgoorlie. Pascoe said interest restarted after Coolgardie RSL began at the old bowling club site and received a grant for a bowling green, though synthetic greens are not yet installed. He reported 24 players registered ahead of the long-awaited match. The club had previously been restarted by his father in 1990 for a short run. Coolgardie Bowling Club was formed in 1903 and reached membership peaks in the 1980s.
