xCruzo Brief
HSBC kept its 2026 guidance unchanged after third-quarter profit before tax rose 32% to $9.6bn, supported by a comparison that excluded $1.4bn of legal provisions booked in the same quarter last year. The bank still expects banking net interest income of at least $46bn for 2026 and a return on tangible equity of 17% or better through 2028, excluding one-off items. HSBC plans an additional share buy-back of up to $1bn, after completing a $1bn repurchase on 28 September. It also approved a third interim dividend of $0.10 per share, payable 17 December. Credit losses fell 17% to $0.8bn in the quarter.
