Inter Miami's 11 TAM Players And More MLS Roster Profile Takeaways
Major League Soccer released updated club roster profiles showing player classifications, contract expiration dates and remaining General Allocation Money (GAM) after the 2026 secondary transfer window. Inter Miami stands out with an MLS-high 11 Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) players, including Luis Suárez and the newly arrived Casemiro, reflecting a roster strategy built around buying down contracts under the salary cap. The document also highlights that four of the top five Supporters’ Shield teams use eight or more TAM players. Separately, the Philadelphia Union reported more than $4.6 million in unutilized GAM. A further concern is that many contracts, including 38 of 78 designated players, are set to expire mid-season in future years.
