IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirms push to bring 2027 auction back to India

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal says the league wants to bring the 2027 player auction back to India, after three consecutive years held overseas. He also confirmed that the future of the Impact Player rule is back under discussion, with the BCCI seeking fresh feedback from franchises and other stakeholders. The auction is expected to be smaller, and the host city hasn’t been finalised yet, though past editions were in Dubai (2024), Jeddah (2025) and Abu Dhabi (2026). Dhumal said the BCCI has struggled to secure venues due to the busy wedding season. The Impact Player rule currently runs until 2027.
