Jesse Minter uses boxing lesson to shape Ravens' resilient mindset
Ravens head coach Jesse Minter is using a boxing-themed message—“keep punching”—to reinforce Baltimore’s resilience after a 41-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Chris Moore said that before the season opener, Minter showed the team a boxing match and told them to keep going, trusting a knockout would come. The analogy is being framed as practical for a sport where outcomes can swing: sometimes Baltimore has to take the first hit, other times it must absorb it, and sometimes results aren’t decided until late. After Indianapolis scored first on an opening-drive touchdown, the Ravens addressed communication issues, forced turnovers, and generated explosive offensive plays to turn the game. Roquan Smith said the defense’s shared focus helps limit opponents once everyone is “on the same page.”
