Johnny Marr auctioning off nearly 100 of his guitars; collection on display at Christie's NY this week

Johnny Marr auctioning off nearly 100 of his guitars links the singer-songwriter’s lifelong collection to a major Christie's event in London and a pre-auction tour in New York. Christie's announced that Marr will sell nearly 100 guitars, along with amps and other equipment, as part of an auction scheduled for September 17 in London. Before that sale, “Marr's Guitars: The Johnny Marr Collection” will be displayed and toured through NYC from June 25 through July 1 at Christie's New York in Rockefeller Center. The collection includes instruments used across Marr’s work, such as a 1960 Cherry Red Gibson ES-355, a 1984 Gibson Les Paul Standard, and a Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar used on Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die.” Marr will donate 100% of the hammer price of 10 lots to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and The National Autistic Society. Marr also announced a new album, The Age of Everything.
