Jorja Smith finds love in the club

Jorja Smith is leaning into club-focused sounds for her third album, What Are the Odds, expanding beyond the U.K. pop-R&B and soul lane that defined earlier work, including her Mercury Prize-nominated 2018 debut Lost & Found era. The pivot is anchored by “Little Things,” a funky-house track first appearing as the least typical single from her 2023 album falling or flying. Smith’s dance-floor connections go back to 2017, when she appeared on Drake’s “Get It Together” with Black Coffee and collaborated with Birmingham DJ Preditah on “On My Mind.” Now, she brings co-producer P2J into a full-length 38-minute set of dance-ready material.
