KAYAK to Group Chats Everywhere: Book the Trip
KAYAK is pushing group travel planning out of group chats and into the calendar with a summer campaign that uses billboard-sized reminders and AI tools. According to new KAYAK research issued July 21, 2026 by PRNewswire from Norwalk, Connecticut, 84% of travelers have experienced a group trip that stalled in chat, with plans averaging one to three months stuck in limbo. The report attributes the delay to a single blocker: 90% of travelers say it comes down to one friend who will not commit. The campaign frames “we should go” moments as a booking outcome, aiming to help travelers coordinate faster and ultimately spend less time planning together. The announcement highlights a behavioral shift trend as group coordination becomes a primary barrier for planned departures.
