Khanh Hoa to host Asia's green, smart cage aquaculture symposium
Khanh Hoa to host Asia's green, smart cage aquaculture symposium says Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa province will host the 8th International Symposium on Cage Aquaculture in Asia (CAA8) at Nha Trang University from July 15 to 18, 2026. The event, themed “Green and Smart Development of Cage Aquaculture in Asia,” is organized by the Asian Fisheries Society, Nha Trang University, Shanghai Ocean University, and the China-ASEAN Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Mariculture Technology. It is held in cooperation with Ocean University of China and the Centre for Ecological Aquaculture. Organizers expect scientists, industry leaders, policymakers, and international delegates to review Asia’s cage aquaculture status, address challenges, and discuss sustainable solutions. The agenda will cover offshore farming systems, selective breeding, nutrition, and biosecurity, with emerging tracks including AI, IoT, carbon neutrality, value chain governance, and climate adaptation. The timing aligns with Vietnam’s push to expand its marine economy and high-tech aquaculture using the province’s extensive coastline and infrastructure.
