Kim Jong Un makes surprise China trip after death rumours - AOL
Kim Jong Un made a surprise trip to China, appearing in public after reports of speculation about his health and whereabouts. The North Korean leader met Chinese officials and praised President Xi Jinping’s leadership, vowing to deepen cooperation between the two communist states. Kim traveled across a newly opened bridge linking the countries, then visited Dandong, a key border gateway for trade. He arrived in Dandong on Saturday, October 24, attended a war memorial for China’s support during the 1950-53 Korean War, and toured a bus factory. Kim did not meet Xi in person, though they exchanged greetings via officials. The trip followed the October 15 opening of the New Yalu River Bridge, a 3-km crossing built with more than $300 million in Chinese investment.
