Kings Cross strip club owner fails to overturn ban on entering his own 'high-risk' venues
xCruzo Brief
A NSW civil and administrative tribunal has upheld a 12-month ban preventing Manthos Papadopoulos from entering high-risk venues in Sydney’s Kings Cross and Sydney CBD entertainment precincts, including his own strip clubs. Papadopoulos, owner of Sydney Elements and Showgirls, was barred by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority in July after a request from NSW Police. The tribunal said the venues are considered high-risk. It noted Papadopoulos was arrested on 15 March and charged with seven offences, including intentionally choking a person without consent, after an incident at Sydney Elements. He also faces an assault charge. The tribunal published its decision Monday.
