Lindsay Clancy back in court for hearing for potential retrial
xCruzo Brief
Lindsay Clancy is back in a Massachusetts courtroom on Monday for a hearing that could set the date for a potential retrial after a mistrial in her triple-murder case. Clancy’s defense did not dispute that she killed her three children and then jumped from a second-story window in Duxbury on Jan. 24, 2023, but argued she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity due to postpartum psychosis. A judge declared a mistrial in early September after a 12-person jury could not reach unanimity, voting 11-1 for an insanity acquittal. The judge, William Sullivan, can also decide whether to order a new trial. Prosecutors want the case to continue.
