Local notes: Club seeks support for annual fundraiser

Local notes describe multiple community drives in Foxford and surrounding areas, led by Moy Davitts and other local groups. Moy Davitts is seeking support for its annual Mayo GAA Club Development Draw, requiring the club to sell 50 tickets and return 100% of ticket sales revenue to Mayo GAA. After that threshold, the club keeps 90% of additional sales revenue to fund facilities used by Moy Davitts GAA, Moy Davitts LGFA, Dads and Lads and other teams. Tickets cost €100, with each ticket entered into six draws offering top prizes of €10,000 in draws one and six and €5,000 in draws two to five, plus €1,000 second prizes in every draw. An additional early-bird draw on Sunday, July 19 at MacHale Park lists multiple voucher prizes, while Riverfest 2026 is set for August 21–22. Separately, Foxford Salmon Anglers reported 24 salmon caught for the week ending June 14, amid shifting river levels.
