Man allegedly fires shots at the Gold Club, arrested in traffic stop
Deangelo Bland, 26, was arrested after police say he fired shots at the Gold Club in northeast Memphis and fled the scene. He faces four counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of using a firearm with intent to commit a dangerous felony, and reckless endangerment. Officers allege the incident began May 17 when two men retrieved handguns from vehicles and fired into the club’s lobby, then escaped in a black and white sedan. Bland was later identified in a lineup and police say they saw a matching black Kia on May 21. On Friday, officers spotted Bland getting into a Dodge Charger, stopped him, and pursued him near S. Parkway East. An officer deployed a taser six times before taking him into custody; it is unclear if a second suspect was arrested.
