McRae and Fair win the Jim Clark Rally - Deadline News
McRae and Fair swept to victory at the Jim Clark Rally, securing their first win after steering the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 along Borders asphalt. McRae, son of 1995 British Champion Alister, was tipped as a potential winner and showed maturity as Friday night stages under darkness shaped the outcome. He built a crucial overnight lead with standout times, while Evans/Furniss and Pryce/Morgan pressed hard in a tight battle. Pryce struck first on the opening Bothwell stage before Evans replied on Abbey St Bathans, leaving the lead trio separated by seconds. On Saturday, McRae secured his second British Rally Championship win with a commanding drive. He paid tribute to his team and to his father as he crossed the finish in Duns. Pearson claimed a home victory in the Reivers Rally at Duns, joined by Hannah McKillop, having initially led before Touzel/Freeman briefly moved ahead; Pearson finished fourth overall as Thorburn and Beaton completed the top six in their VW Polo GTI R5. The Jim Clark weekend capped three days of Borders action across the Scottish Rally championships and historic asphalt events.
