Marc Lloyd Williams marked his comeback at 53 with a goal as Llanberis routed Amlwch Town 8-0 in the first qualifying round of the Welsh Cup. Twelve years after retiring, Williams featured for the North Wales club he grew up with, starting with pre-season sessions after staying at his mother’s place in Llanberis. Playing for several top-flight Welsh sides, including Bangor City, he won the Welsh Cup and the Cymru Premier and also spent time in the EFL with Stockport County, York City and Halifax Town. He said he returned because he still has friends there and wanted to “put something back.”
