Orchard Lake St. Mary's baseball stars cruise through semifinals

EAST LANSING — Orchard Lake St. Mary’s baseball rolled to the Division 2 state semifinals with an 8-0 victory over Dearborn Divine Child at Michigan State University on Thursday, June 11. The decisive rally began in the bottom of the third when 7‑8‑9 hitters Schilp, Bauman, and Duff loaded the bases, followed by a three-run triple from Hudson Brzustewicz, a Notre Dame commit, and a right‑center triple by pitcher Luke Crighton. Crighton worked seven scoreless innings on 83 pitches, fanning eight and walking none, while Brzustewicz finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Divine Child managed four singles and no runners reached scoring position as Crighton dominated the Falcons. St. Mary’s junior shortstop Tribul, a Michigan State commit, started the fifth inning with a single, and later Zach Essig plated two runs with a single, helping seal the run‑rule win.
