PGA Tour's Rocket Classic in Detroit to end after 2026

Detroit will bid farewell to the Rocket Classic after the 2026 edition, ending a six-year run at Detroit Golf Club that began in 2019 when the event launched as the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The 2026 tournament runs July 30 through August 2 and will feature Cameron Young, Russell Henley and Xander Schauffele, with past champions Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau among the entrants. The event’s roughly $10 million purse places it below majors and the tour’s flagship events, helping explain why it hasn’t attracted the game’s biggest stars in recent years. Rocket disclosed that 2026 will be the final Detroit edition “for now,” noting the 2027 calendar remains unsettled and Michigan is unlikely to host next year.
