PSG President to Discuss Club World Cup 2029 Boycott

PSG president discussed a potential boycott of the 2029 Club World Cup during talks in Salzburg, as pressure grows on FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The issue traces back to FIFA plans tied to selling shares of the World Cup to private investors, a move that led 53 UEFA member nations to confirm they would boycott the 2030 World Cup if Infantino proceeded. Infantino’s decision was later reversed. According to Ben Jacobs, UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin and PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi are set to meet on August 12, when PSG host Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, to discuss whether Infantino remains in charge. The FIFA presidential election is scheduled for March 18 in Rabat, Morocco.
