Quilt of Valor created by 4-H'ers honors local veteran

Johnson County 4-H members created a Quilt of Valor to honor Vietnam veteran Ronald Lee Fry, who died May 16 at age 80. Led by Leena Green and Grandview 4-H member Dean Edwards, the project began with sewing squares on November 24 at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office in Cleburne, with Green completing the quilt at home. In April, Green asked VFW Post 9299 in Alvarado to nominate a recipient; Fry, who served with the Fifth Special Forces Group, was chosen. The quilt was presented to Fry's widow and daughter at his June 3 celebration of life.
