Sask. Premier Moe went to D.C. for a funeral. He talked trade, too

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is spending part of this week in Washington, D.C., after being invited to attend the funeral of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham. The provincial government said Moe traveled separately but coordinated with Canada’s federal Internal Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc and attended the service together with him. The trip has drawn criticism from the Official Opposition, which argues Graham was a friend and ally of President Donald Trump and that honoring him is unacceptable amid concerns over impending tariffs. NDP trade critic Kim Breckner said supporting someone linked to “devastating impacts” on Saskatchewan’s economy is inappropriate. Moe also met with U.S. cabinet officials, including Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, advocating for “free and fair trade.”
