Ship within a ship': the new trend giving big-ship cruises a luxury twist

MSC’s Seaview is being used to showcase a growing cruising strategy often described as a “ship within a ship.” The concept lets passengers enjoy the full mega-ship experience—restaurants, shows, and amenities—then retreat to private spaces behind a door. On Seaview, Yacht Club access sits around Level 16 and includes 86 suites, a restaurant, lounge, private pool deck, concierge services, and a team of butlers. The reported perks include dedicated check-in, priority routes back on board through security, and concierge handling for excursion changes and dinner reservations. Examples cited include a head concierge checking in proactively about a shore excursion during the trip. Similar products exist across other lines.
