Shohei Ohtani provides Dodgers with a sliver of hope. Here's why.
xCruzo Brief
With the Dodgers trailing Milwaukee 3-0 in the best-of-seven NLCS, Shohei Ohtani produced a late spark in Game 3 on Wednesday, Oct. 14. In the bottom of the eighth, two outs and nobody on, Ohtani reached for the first pitch—a 96-mph sinker from reliever DL Hall—and lined a single up the middle. Baseball Savant listed his exit velocity at 113.5 mph, the game’s top mark. While it didn’t change the outcome—Milwaukee extended its lead—Ohtani had gone homerless since Aug. 18 and was batting .182 (4-for-22) in the postseason. The Dodgers will try to avoid elimination in Game 4 on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 8 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium.
