Six holiday personality types every friendship group will recognise
A survey of 2,000 adults has mapped six “holiday personality types” that people say they recognize in their friendship groups, highlighting who drives bookings and planning. Nearly half of British respondents identify the “Chief Vacation Officer” (CVO), the person who turns holiday talk into concrete arrangements. Other types include the “Busy Bee” who is never available (15%) and the “Ghost,” who vanishes until arrival at the airport (10%). The study, commissioned by Samsung, also finds that 64% believe a getaway would not happen without the CVO, and 53% say that role’s contribution is frequently underestimated. It was supported by Samsung’s partnership with Vicky Pattison, who describes herself as the lead booker and credits phone-based tools and Multi Window features on the Galaxy Z Fold7 for managing complex planning. Most respondents use phones to organize (67%), seek destinations via social media (40%), and use AI for itineraries (42%), yet many still struggle to keep chats and bookings in one place. Key hurdles include aligning dates (42%) and collecting passport details (11%).
