Soybeans Falling Back from 3-Year Highs on Friday Morning

Soybean futures slipped early Friday, with contracts down 11 to 12 cents. After Thursday’s rally—most contracts gained 13 to 22 cents—open interest rose by 6,206 contracts, a sign of new buying interest. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price was up 22 1/2 cents to $12.74 1/2. Soymeal futures advanced $2.30 to $5.50, while soy oil rallied 102 to 135 points. Overnight, only 1 delivery was issued against September soybeans, versus 3 for soymeal and 134 for soy oil, all expiring Monday. Weekly export sales are due later today. Analysts expect 2025/26 soybeans to range from no sales to net cancellations of 500,000 MT, and new-crop sales for early September week.
