Sparks fall to Liberty in shootout, as losing streak reaches 6 games

Rae Burrell matched a career high with 24 points, but the Los Angeles Sparks couldn’t finish a late rally and fell 113-109 to the New York Liberty at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday. Nneka Ogwumike added 21 points and a season-best nine assists, yet Los Angeles squandered a nine-point second-half lead. The Sparks cut an 11-point deficit to three in the final minute but ran out of time. The teams combined for 33 made 3-pointers and 62 assists. Los Angeles shot 60% and got six players in double figures, including Erica Wheeler (17), Ariel Atkins (16), Dearica Hamby (12) and Cameron Brink (11).
