Startup Covenant to launch cruise missile production in Germany next year
xCruzo Brief
U.S. defence startup Covenant says it will begin mass production of its low-cost cruise missile, the Anthem, in Germany in early 2027 to satisfy European demand for long-range weapons aimed at countering Russia. Covenant has secured one European contract for Anthem and is in talks with other potential customers, without naming countries. First ground-launched deliveries are expected in early 2027. The company’s CEO Michael Kaufman targets production of 5,000 missiles by 2028 from its Saxony facility and wants to make the European supply chain for Anthem largely independent of the United States. Covenant did not disclose Anthem range but says it suits the European theatre and is priced in the “mid-six figures.”
