Texas League baseball: Tulsa rallies past Northwest Arkansas to close first half | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Tulsa rallied past Northwest Arkansas to close the first half of the Texas League season with a 5-4 win on Sunday afternoon at Arvest Ballpark. The Drillers, who captured the Texas League North Division first-half title, scored three runs in the top of the ninth after receiving back-to-back two-out hits from Josue De Paula and Elijah Hainline to erase a 4-3 deficit. Northwest Arkansas tried to respond in the bottom of the ninth with consecutive singles by Jack Pineda and Spencer Nivens, but an unorthodox end-of-game double play sealed the result. Pineda hit .367 with 3 home runs, 18 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 22 runs across 41 games, despite the late miscue. Tulsa improved to 46-23 with its third consecutive win, while Hunter Patteson allowed two runs on two hits over six innings. The Naturals also set a single-game franchise record with 10 stolen bases without being caught.
