Tom Cruise on Iñárritu's 'Digger': 'This guy's got f***ing balls'

Tom Cruise described why he wanted to work with Alejandro González Iñárritu after seeing Amores perros, saying he was so impressed he urged friends to “call the studios” to screen it. Speaking to promote Digger—his first collaboration with the writer-director—Cruise recalled meeting Iñárritu years later and developing the project together. Digger hits theaters Oct. 2, with Cruise playing Digger Rockwell, an arrogant oil baron whose drilling in Greenland threatens a global disaster. Co-stars said Cruise’s prosthetics left him largely unrecognizable, while cast members praised his willingness to take risks after more than a decade as Ethan Hunt. The film also stars actors including Stuhlbarg and Ahmed.
