Tom Cruise publicly praised Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey after attending an early screening in Thursday activities. He posted on social media to thank Nolan, Nolan’s wife and producing partner Emma Nolan, and the film’s cast and crew, saying he can’t wait to see it again. The Odyssey officially opens in theaters Friday and stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the Greek king returning home to Ithaca after the Trojan War, reuniting with Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Telemachus (Tom Holland). The cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Travis Scott, Charlize Theron and others. The film holds a 96% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes at publication time. Nolan’s production is noted as the first feature shot entirely on IMAX 70mm film cameras. Cruise has previously campaigned for big-screen releases, and he is preparing his own Warner Bros. film Digger for an Oct. 2 theatrical release.
