Trump will rally in Kansas and Iowa after initially cance;ling weekend trips before midterms
U.S. President Donald Trump will reschedule campaign rallies in two critical Midwestern states after initially canceling weekend trips ahead of the midterms. According to a person familiar with the plans who requested anonymity, Trump will now visit Iowa and Kansas for back-to-back rallies on Sunday. The Republican National Committee had previously said the cancellations would be handled through “telerallies” to reach more voters, but the person said the physical events were rearranged to accommodate additional phone-based rallies. The RNC announced Thursday evening that Trump would conduct a “72-hour sprint” of telerallies across nearly 20 states, with more possible. The change follows an abrupt shift from Trump’s earlier promise to hold rallies continuously late in the campaign.
