Despite saving airline points, the Florida trip felt financially unsustainable as meals often surpassed $100 per person, with teens consuming adult portions. Now they live near St. Louis and focus on short trips: brunch outings, museums, and zoos, all within a few hours' drive. They emphasize affordable, low-stress planning, avoiding flights, hotels, and long drives while exploring nearby culture and cuisine.
