Van of Valor': A Road Trip to Honor Vets

Kevin and Lauren Wallace have turned a used delivery van into a moving memorial for U.S. veterans. After selling most of what they owned soon after marrying, the couple embarked on a 280-day, 27,106-mile road trip across North America. Using the Van of Valor as their platform, they recorded the stories of Purple Heart veterans and Gold Star families, later compiling them in their book, Van of Valor: A 27,000-Mile Journey Through American Sacrifice. They wrote names of the veterans and service members featured on the van’s exterior, totaling 443 names by the end of the journey, representing multiple branches and conflicts from World War II to 2024.
