Watch: Footage shows booze-fuelled 'thugs' smash doors during nightclub attack
Five men who attacked door staff during a nightclub incident in Maidstone avoided prison time, according to evidence shown in court. The assault happened after they were denied entry to Ovation nightclub on Sunday, September 28, last year, when prosecutors said the group was heavily intoxicated. CCTV shown at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, September 16, captured the chaos shortly after 1am, including Arthur Hicks, 20, trying to force his way in and then being restrained by bouncers before the fight escalated. Ethan Beaney, Jamie Walker and others joined in, kicking doors and throwing metal barriers; one barrier smashed a glass door and some glass hit staff. Damage was estimated at £1,787, with staff injuries reported. Walker was later detained with small amounts of cannabis, while Joshua Fennessy was found with ketamine and spat on a police car. The court heard Kent Police sought £200 compensation.
