White Sox prospect Smith rejoins Triple-A Charlotte after IL stint after the club reinstated Hagen Smith from the injured list on Sunday. The team said the 22-year-old (No. 3 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 52 overall) returned to Triple-A Charlotte following a left shoulder impingement that sent him to the 7-day IL on June 16. At the time, Chicago planned to limit the southpaw to throwing for two weeks before ramping up for game action. Smith’s early season in Triple-A included 77 strikeouts across 52 innings, with 36 walks and a 4.67 ERA through his first 14 starts. His last appearance before the injury came June 13 against Oklahoma City, when he allowed eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and three walks over 4 1/3 frames.
