Will we really see Sam Walker again this World Cup?
Sam Walker’s path back into the Kangaroos for next Sunday’s World Cup semi-final in Sydney looks difficult after Tom Dearden delivered a dominant showing. Dearden helped Australia to a 66-6 win over the Cook Islands in Townsville, while Walker watched from the Roosters’ sidelines after his Sydney contract was pulled from consideration. Reece Walsh, who re-injured his left ankle, produced another man-of-the-match display with five try assists, though he’s not in doubt for the semi. Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters said he hasn’t decided on selection and will meet leaders, adding Tedesco and others may still reshuffle the back and halves. Walters also highlighted Tonga and Samoa’s physical forward packs ahead of a Sunday night clash at CommBank Stadium.
