You Can't Parry a Knife' -- Justin Wong and IFC Yipes Literally Commentate Ryu's Match Against Blanka in the Street Fighter Movie
Justin Wong and IFC Yipes, both longtime figures in the fighting game community, appear in the upcoming Street Fighter movie and also provided on-camera commentary for Ryu versus Blanka. Director Kitao Sakurai invited Wong, Yipes, and Maximilian Dood to play criminals in what’s depicted as a Shadaloo prison while Blanka (Jason Momoa) and Ryu (Andrew Koji) fight under the watch of M. Bison. A teaser earlier this year showed the trio, and on October 1 Wong shared behind-the-scenes footage, including a closer look at the scene where the two commentate the match. The video depicts them “betting” on commissary rations such as ramen noodles and toilet paper. Wong also had his character get a tattoo of number 37, ties to a joke about being jailed for stabbing someone who kept parrying him. Street Fighter arrives in theaters on October 16, 2026.
