Airbnb vs. Coupang: Cyclical Volatility vs. Steady Scale in Revenue - AOL
Coupang’s revenue runs about 2.5x to 3x higher than Airbnb’s, with far fewer seasonal swings, contrasting with Airbnb’s boom-bust travel pattern. Airbnb (NASDAQ: ABNB) operates a global lodging marketplace linking independent hosts with travelers and has recently integrated its listings into the American Express booking system. It also added social networking features and AI search tools. Coupang (NYSE: CPNG) operates direct e-commerce, fresh grocery delivery, video streaming, luxury fashion marketplaces, fintech activity, and rapid restaurant food ordering. The company said it secured new distribution agreements to bring foreign goods into South Korea while facing a regulatory review by the Korea Fair Trade Commission over concerns including cost shifting to suppliers.
