Alaska Air's $1 Billion Profit Plan Leans on Premium Travel and Global Growth - Alaska Air Group (NYSE:AL
Alaska Air Group shares rose on Tuesday as investors weighed the company’s Alaska Accelerate update against a generally cautious market. The airline said it has captured about two-thirds of its $1 billion incremental profit target as it shifts Alaska Accelerate from integration toward growth in premium travel, international routes, loyalty and cargo. Alaska expects to reach the full goal by 2027, including $500 million in merger synergies from Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. The company has completed three of four major integration milestones, including a single loyalty program, a Single Operating Certificate, and a unified passenger service system, while collective bargaining is still underway. Alaska said non-main-cabin revenue is now 53% of total and projects premium revenue to exceed 40% by 2030.
