Aldi confirms all stores will close for 24 hours to give staff 'chance to rest'

Aldi has confirmed that all of its UK stores will close for 24 hours later this year to give staff time to rest around Christmas. Shops will shut on Boxing Day and reopen on Sunday, December 27. Aldi will also close on New Year’s Day and restart operations on Saturday, January 2, 2027. In the days before Christmas, opening times will vary by location, with many stores extending hours to help customers stock up. Aldi says the measure is intended as a thank-you for teams working through the busiest period of the year. Customers are urged to check the Aldi Store Finder.
