Aldi in Tuesday announcement of 16 new supermarkets - full list

Aldi has revealed plans to open 16 new supermarkets across the UK in coming months. The locations include Hattersley, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, Malton, Watford, Hoxton, Newport, and Wigan among others. The expansion aligns with Aldi's target of 1,500 stores in the UK and a £370 million investment slated for 2026. The company noted the Salford Quays store opened last month as part of this growth wave. Jonathan Neale, Aldi UK's National Real Estate Managing Director, emphasized that the expansion supports affordable, high-quality groceries while boosting local economies.
