Baking legend's 1960s home hits market with original details and a very unusual kitchen

Marjorie Johnson’s 1968 Robbinsdale, Minnesota lakefront home is up for sale for the first time, positioned as a “time capsule” with original fixtures and a custom powder-blue kitchen. Johnson, who died last year at 106, became known as the “Blue Ribbon Baker,” winning more than 3,000 state and county fair ribbons after starting competitive baking in earnest at age 55. The 5,100-square-foot property includes six bedrooms, four bathrooms, built-ins, an indoor basement pool, 70 feet of shoreline on Crystal Lake, a second kitchen and family room, and a three-season lake-view room. Her daughter says Johnson personally designed the countertops and a low desk for her height, and many vintage details remain fully functional.
