Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood said blockchain businesses keep evolving, noting that these networks have existed for more than a decade and that new launches will continue. Speaking after an X post shared by Ark research director Lorenzo Valiente, Wood highlighted Ethereum, Solana and Hyperliquid as different “business models.” Valiente compared Ethereum to McDonald’s’ model, framing it as controlling the brand, operating standards like ERC-20 and “blockspace” plus Layer 1 settlement guarantees for Layer 2 chains. Solana was likened to Chipotle, with activity concentrated on its Layer 1. Hyperliquid was compared to In-N-Out, built by a small team and reportedly never taking outside capital. Wood added the framework helps investors understand differences across chains.
