CNBC Daily Open: Zelenskyy heads to UK for talks on fresh support
Taiwan agreed to purchase 30% of gas sourced from a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Alaska, US President Donald Trump said, adding that the arrangement would “guarantee a success.” The CNBC Daily Open also flags shifting expectations for Asia’s growth, pointing to China’s producer prices rising at their fastest pace in more than four years, and Singapore’s GDP growth slowing to 5.4% in the third quarter after a four-year high in the prior quarter. In Europe, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is expected to meet EU leaders Friday. Burnham is set to tell Zelenskyy that ministers are preparing further sanctions, military support and fiscal packages. The briefing notes Russia hit Ukrainian energy infrastructure overnight, leaving at least 600,000 people without power in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
