Content Market and Conference Mipcom Attracts 10,100 Delegates, Down by Around 500

Mipcom, the annual content market and conference in Cannes, ended Wednesday with attendance figures that showed a modest decline. Total attendance this year reached 10,100 delegates, down about 500 from last year, including 3,150 buyers (34% of delegates), down roughly 150. Delegates came from 104 countries versus 107 last year. MipJunior drew 600 attendees, with 165 buyers, compared with 700 and 190 buyers previously. Event chief Lucy Smith said the industry is facing “extraordinary disruption” from consolidation, while creators, brands, tech companies and digital platforms are becoming central actors. She said Mipcom’s strategy is to strengthen its marketplace role by bringing in brands, AI, verticals and creators, and expanding business and IP connections.
