Content Partners Expands Into Creator Economy, Launching Wonderloom Media With Ed Simpson, Acquiring Dr. Insanity True Crime Franchise
Content Partners is expanding into the creator economy with the launch of Wonderloom Media, teaming with media veteran Ed Simpson. The venture aims to partner with creators to help them grow across both traditional and emerging media platforms. Wonderloom’s first deal is an acquisition of the YouTube true-crime channel Dr. Insanity, which has more than 5 million subscribers. The company said it will leverage Content Partners’ background—starting 20 years ago as a creative rights acquisition platform—to evaluate creators’ value and support scaling. Simpson will serve as CEO of Wonderloom alongside Brent Montgomery, with Scott Hemming and Alphonse Lordo steering the launch. Wonderloom and related entities were advised legally by Willkie Farr & Gallagher for Wonderloom, Paul Hastings for Content Partners, and Baker & Hostetler plus Night for Dr. Insanity’s representation. Dr. Insanity markets itself with “scariest stories on the internet” branding.
