European Markets Fail To Hold Early Gains, Settle Weak
xCruzo Brief
European stocks struggled to hold early gains on Tuesday, slipping after brisk late-session selling. With oil easing from earlier levels, investors remained cautious amid ongoing uncertainty about whether Iran and the U.S. can reach an agreement to end their conflict soon. Brent crude front-month futures rose to $107.87 a barrel earlier but later fell to around $103. The pan-European STOXX 600 ended 0.09% lower. The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 0.45%, France’s CAC 40 dropped 0.53%, while Germany’s DAX edged up 0.1%. Energy shares slid as oil weakened. Some tech and industrial names rose, including Legrand after raising 2030 targets.
